Why does sublimation only work on white or light-coloured t-shirts?

Sublimation dye is transparent — it bonds into the polyester fibres and the fabric colour shows through the print as the background. On a white tee, the white fabric acts as the paper of your design. On a black or dark tee, the dark fabric overwhelms the dye and the print barely shows. Sublimation is a white/light substrate-only process.

What heat press settings do I use for sublimation t-shirts?

Press at 190–200°C for 40–60 seconds with medium pressure. Use a Teflon sheet or parchment paper between the transfer and the upper platen. Remove the transfer paper immediately after pressing while still warm to prevent ghosting. Always test a spare blank at your settings before a production run.

Can I do all-over prints on these sublimation tees?

Yes. The double jersey 100% polyester fabric accepts full all-over sublimation printing. For true all-over coverage, print slightly oversized (bleed past the garment edges) and trim after pressing, or use a heat press with a garment-sized platen. Seams and shoulder lines will show slight colour variation due to the additional fabric layers — this is normal for all-over sublimation.

Are these sublimation tees available in kids sizes?

Yes. BizSupplies stocks the same 170gsm 100% polyester tee in a kids unisex cut, available in sizes 2 through 14. Search 'kids sublimation t-shirts' on our site for the full range.

Buying Guide: Adult Sublimation T-Shirts for Print-on-Demand

The quality of a sublimation blank tee determines the quality of your finished product — no amount of printer or ink quality recovers a bad blank. Key variables: fabric weight (170gsm is the commercial standard for a substantial but not heavy tee), polyester content (100% is required for vivid, durable sublimation), and construction quality (double jersey means two layers of knit fabric — no see-through, no stretch distortion under the heat press).

These tees are cut generously — the unisex sizing runs slightly large, which suits all-over print workflows where you want the design to extend to the edges without pulling or distorting at the seams. Stock at our Peakhurst warehouse ships same or next business day; bulk orders of 36+ units qualify for carton pricing.
