Sublimation Paper for Epson, Ricoh & Sawgrass Printers

Sublimation paper is the carrier, not the print. The ink sits on the coated surface until heat turns it to gas and drives it into a polyester or polymer-coated item — which is why a sublimation print is smooth to the touch and cannot be felt as an outline. Get the paper wrong and the transfer looks washed out no matter how good the ink is.

We stock 105gsm through 125gsm in A4, A3 and roll formats, from our Peakhurst (Sydney) warehouse. Unused paper keeps for around a year in dry storage.

Choose by printer

Which weight?

Lighter stock dries faster and costs less per sheet, which suits small items like mugs and coasters. Heavier stock holds more ink without cockling, so it is the safer choice for large solid-colour areas, apparel and photo panels. If you are printing a mix, standardise on the heavier weight — the cost difference is smaller than the cost of re-pressing a failed job.

The rest of the workflow

Paper works with sublimation ink, a press, heat tape to stop the transfer shifting, and polyester-coated blanks. Changing paper brand mid-run will shift your colour — settle on one and stay with it.
