PTFE Heat Press Sheet — Protect Prints and Platens on Every Press
A PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) sheet sits between the heat press platen and the garment or substrate, acting as a non-stick barrier that prevents ink bleed, vinyl adhesive, and sublimation dye from bonding to the platen surface. It also protects heat-sensitive materials from direct platen contact and diffuses heat slightly to reduce hot-spot scorching on lighter fabrics.
Use a sheet on every press — not just with difficult materials. It extends the life of the platen, keeps production clean between colour changes, and avoids the cost of a contaminated platen requiring full cleaning or replacement.
Which thickness to choose
| Thickness | Best for |

| 0.1 mm (standard) | Standard HTV pressing, sublimation blanks, DTF transfers, screen-printed transfers on light-to-medium fabrics. Everyday production use. |
| 0.18 mm (heavy) | Thick substrates: denim, canvas, neoprene, ceramic tiles. Provides more heat diffusion and extra protection on surfaces where scorching is a risk. |
Which side faces down? The matte/duller side faces the garment or substrate; the slightly shinier side faces the platen. The matte side is less likely to mark light-coloured fabrics.
Rinse with mild soap and warm water when the surface becomes cloudy or collects residue. PTFE sheets are reusable for 100+ press cycles with normal care.
