What to buy first

A sublimation printer cannot transfer anything on its own — you need a press as well. If your product mix is mugs and drinkware, a mug press is the cheaper entry. If it spans coasters, slates, apparel and bar mats, buy a flat press first; a 5-in-1 combo covers mugs, caps and flat work off one machine while volumes are low.

How to Choose a Heat Press in Australia works through platen size, clamshell vs swing-away, and where the cheap presses fall over.
