Sublimation Ink Cartridges — Sawgrass & Ricoh

Sublimation ink is not ordinary printer ink. It is a dye that turns to gas under heat and bonds into a polyester or polymer-coated surface, which is why sublimation prints feel smooth rather than sitting on top of the substrate. Biz Supplies stocks genuine cartridges for Sawgrass and Ricoh systems, shipped from our Peakhurst (Sydney) warehouse.

Match the cartridge to your printer

• Sawgrass SG500 / SG1000 carts — for the current SG-series printers
• Sawgrass SG400 / SG800 carts — for the previous generation
• Ricoh older model carts
• Ink collection units — the waste unit; the printer stops when it fills, so keep a spare

Cartridges are model-specific and are not cross-compatible between generations. If you are unsure which series you have, the model number is on the front of the printer — or call us and we will confirm it.

Getting the colour you expect

Sublimation colour depends on three things together: the ink, the transfer paper, and the coating on the blank. Changing any one of them shifts the result, so it pays to settle on a combination and stay with it rather than buying whatever is cheapest each time. Note that sublimation has no white ink — unprinted areas stay the colour of the substrate, which is why blanks are white or light.
