✅ Your file — quick checklist

  • Resolution: 300–360 DPI
  • Max size: 57 cm wide × 2 m long
  • Formats: TIF, PSD, EPS, PDF or PNG
  • Background: transparent (no background)
  • Text: converted to curves / outlines (see Step 1)

1Convert text to curves / outlines (for EPS & PDF)

Why: this locks your fonts into the artwork so they print exactly as designed — even if we don’t have your font installed. Always do this on any EPS or PDF that contains text.

🅰️ Adobe Illustrator

  1. Open your file.
  2. Select everything: Select → All (Ctrl+A / Cmd+A).
  3. Type → Create Outlines (Shift+Ctrl+O / Shift+Cmd+O).
  4. Your text is now vector shapes. File → Save As and choose EPS or PDF.

💡 Tip: keep an editable copy first — once outlined, text can’t be edited as text again.

✏️ CorelDRAW

  1. Open your file.
  2. Select everything: Edit → Select All → Objects (Ctrl+A).
  3. Object → Convert to Curves (Ctrl+Q). (Older versions: Arrange → Convert to Curves.)
  4. File → Export and choose PDF or EPS.

💡 Tip: to convert only the text, use Edit → Select All → Text, then press Ctrl+Q.

2How to set your file to 300 DPI

Raster files (PNG, TIF, PSD — photos & painted artwork) — in Photoshop:

  1. Image → Image Size.
  2. Untick “Resample”.
  3. Set Resolution to 300 Pixels/Inch (sets DPI without degrading the image — note the print size shown).
  4. To hit a specific print size, design at that size. Example: a 57 cm-wide print at 300 DPI needs about 6,700 pixels across.

⚠️ Important: raising the DPI number on a small, low-resolution image does NOT add real detail — it just stretches the pixels and prints blurry. Always start from a high-resolution original.

Vector files (Illustrator / CorelDRAW) are resolution-independent and print crisp at any size — DPI doesn’t apply. Only raster effects matter:

  • Illustrator: Effect → Document Raster Effects Settings → High (300 ppi).
